As 2021 draws to a close, we are looking back fondly on an eventful year at MOD Developments. Akin to the year prior, the last 12 months were filled both with unique challenges and incredible victories – all of which would not have been possible without the collaboration and hard work of our team and consultant partners. In 2021, we welcomed residents to their new home at Waterworks, achieved exciting construction milestones at 55C Bloor Yorkville Residences, added talented members to our growing team at MOD, partnered with organizations doing amazing work in our city and so much more. New Logo, New Look
After an incredible 12 years in the business, we wanted a brand new look and feel for MOD to accompany us as we continue to grow. Together, we will Form The Future.
55C Bloor Yorkville Residences Reached Above-Grade Milestone
We broke ground at 55C Bloor Yorkville Residences in August 2020, and have been excavating, enforcing, and pouring concrete ever since at the site of the soon-to-be 48 storey tower. Recently reaching grade, Yorkville can expect to see 55C begin to take shape above ground.
Welcome Home, Waterworks Residents!
Our Waterworks project, which we co-developed with Woodcliffe Landmark Properties, opened the doors to its residents in March and is now fully occupied.
New Accolades For The Massey Tower
This year, The Massey Tower received the Award of Merit from the Toronto Urban Design Awards (TUDA) for our collaboration in the redevelopment of Massey Hall, striking façade, and the considered parking structure development which contributes to the Yonge St. Landscape.
The 46th annual awards at Heritage Toronto recognized the successful application of heritage conservation and planning principles for Massey Tower, awarding the development with the Heritage Planning and Architecture Award.
Community Building Continues At Waterworks
In 2021, construction at Waterworks’ community spaces — a brand new YMCA and European-style Food Hall — continued in full swing. We are aiming for the completion of both these spaces in summer 2022.
We Sponsored The Community Arts & Indigenous Artist Awards
At MOD, we are passionate supporters of the Toronto arts scene and we were proud to come together in person this year to sponsor the Community Arts & Indigenous Artist Awards.
We Partnered With The Start2Finish Backpack Program
This year, MOD got involved in the Start2Finish Backpack Program — a charity dedicated to providing necessary school supplies to thousands of kids across Canada who would otherwise start the year without proper learning essentials.
The Massey Tower Received It’s Official Heritage Plaque
\The Massey Tower received its official heritage plaque highlighting the history of the 1905 Canadian Bank of Commerce building, which now serves as the entrance and lobby of the 60-storey tower.
Work From Home Office!
Those words may not roll off the tongue the same way that WFH might, but we are glad to be back in the office with our team!
