  • Janice Cheng

    Office Manager

Janice’s support for preserving Toronto’s heritage is what initially drew her to MOD, where she enjoys utilizing and refining her unique set of skills and interests as they apply to the development industry.

When Janice isn’t at the office creating a symbiotic workplace for all, she’s busy volunteering in children’s programs, reading, gardening, and applying farm to table practices in her own cooking.

    Warren Cheung

    Controller

Warren is a finance expert who is fueled by a desire to help build better cities. His aptitude for real estate combined with his naturally sharp mind and laser-focused aptitude for numbers makes him the ideal manager of all financial activities within MOD.

But his skills and accomplishments don’t stop at his CPA designation. Between riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, and doing home renovations, Warren has a plethora of interests and talents that complement his love of development.

    Rohan Gawri

    Associate

The fast-paced nature of development is what attracted Rohan to the industry, and witnessing his work at MOD change the city skyline is a key source of his inspiration. A graduate from the Ivey Business School at Western University, the need to constantly problem solve in development is what fuels him in his daily work. Rohan’s well-rounded abilities and experience allow him to be involved in all aspects of the business; including underwriting, design, budgeting, marketing, sales, and evaluating new acquisitions.

Rohan’s passion for development continuously evolves through meeting different people and is inspired by the vast places he’s travelled.

    John Covello

    Assistant Project Manager

John entered real estate for the reasons anyone would hope their project manager would; to positively impact the lives of people and give them a place to call home.

He loves being part of the entire process, from design to construction, and seeing the concept come to life in a tactile way. Solving complex issues and executing unique design features is one of the factors of development that drives John every day.

Apart from a genuine passion for design and creating liveable spaces, John enjoys golfing and vinyl record collecting.

    Vaibhav Jain

    Development Manager

Born in India and educated at Harvard, Vaibhav is an accomplished member of MOD’s senior team, with work spanning projects across the globe. Having begun in architecture, working in Hong Kong, Boston, the Middle East, and India, Vaibhav switched to community development. This is when he discovered his vast experiences offered a unique opportunity for him to balance the design and business side of development. With an ethos that drives him to never stop learning, Vaibhav is driven to shape a future community that has a positive effect on the way we live.

Inspired by all things, when Vaibhav isn’t ideating and managing the next great development, you can find him running, kayaking, and pursuing his passion for photography.

    Marie Girolamo

    Director of Design

For Marie, the liveability of a home is just as important as its aesthetics, the balance being what inspires her as MOD’s Director of Design. Over 16 years ago, she found the perfect outlet for her creativity and love of real estate in the world of Interiors. As a graduate from the International Academy of Design and a finalist on HGTV’s Design Interns in 2006, Marie began her career at Cecconi Simone and has since worked on projects around the world. She is a Registered Interior Designer and an active member of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) and IDC (Interior Designers of Canada).

When she’s not on a job site or dreaming up new ideas for MOD’s latest endeavors, you can find Marie boarding a plane to explore another corner of the world.

    Aidan Ball

    Director of Construction

With a life-long love of construction and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from McGill University under his belt, Aidan went on to work as a Project Manager for Camrost-Felcorp. There, he managed multiple high-rise projects including the prestigious Avenue development, as well as Imperial Plaza, where the iconic 1957 Imperial Oil Building was conscientiously repurposed into a residential condominium.

Since joining MOD, he has been in charge of supervising all aspects of its various development projects and helps keep the founding principle of design excellence in the forefront.

Stimulated by the ever-changing landscape of the industry, Aidan thrives off the diverse energy of the job sites and is constantly inspired by the cities he helps to build.

    Michael Fox

    Development Manager

As a University of Toronto graduate with a Bachelors of Commerce and a Masters of Science in Planning, a Registered Professional Planner, and experience on projects across North America, Michael is a seasoned development manager.

In his role at MOD he is involved in many aspects of the business, including land acquisition, entitlements, coordination of the design team, representing the owner through construction, condominium registration, and retail leasing. But what truly fosters Michael’s love for real estate is a deep interest in urban issues and a desire to work with experts, stakeholders and decision makers to build a better city.

Michael enjoys photography and cooking in his spare time, and cherishes time spent with his family.

    Noorez Lalani

    President

When it comes to a well-rounded portfolio of experience, Noorez is as expert as they come. With a law degree from the University of Windsor, a Masters of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, he has a unique skillset not often seen in the world of development.

Leveraging his background in corporate finance, commercial real estate, and real estate management, Noorez co-founded MOD with Gary in 2009 with an arsenal of experience and a fresh point of view.

As important to Noorez as his professional pursuits are his personal ones. He sits on boards ranging from the Toronto Artscape Foundation to YMCA Strong Start and is also involved with several Canadian charities, including Covenant House and Night to Fight MS.

    Gary Switzer

    Chief Executive Officer

Gary is one of the city’s most awarded developers. 18 Yorkville. X. Charlie. FIVE condos. The Massey Tower. Though his portfolio of iconic buildings are varied, his devotion to design excellence, heritage preservation, and city-building never wane.

A graduate from the University of Toronto School of Architecture, he began his career at WZMH Architects, worked in planning for the City of Toronto, went on to help establish the high-rise division of Great Gulf Homes, then applied his learned principles to the MOD we know today.

If Gary wasn’t the CEO of MOD Developments, the Toronto Chapter of BILD (Building Industry and Land Development Association), a frequent lecturer at the University of Toronto, York University, and Ryerson University, he’d probably work in his other great passion, photography.
