MOD Takes Morocco

DATE

September 26, 2022

After a long two years of pandemic-imposed restrictions on travel, in May, we were finally able to celebrate the success of 55C Bloor Yorkville Residences with our top-performing brokers by taking an incredible, 5-day trip to Morocco. The trip was a chance to gather and connect with our extended MOD family, while immersing ourselves in the culture of Marrakech.

From visiting the local markets, riding camels in the desert, and taking in the expansive Marrakech views from a hot air balloon, our trip to Morocco was an unforgettable experience.

Day One: The team arrived by private charter to the gorgeous Hotel Oberoi in Marrakech where they freshened up for a welcome dinner at Yacout.

Day Two:  After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we started off our first day adventuring around the city of Marrakech by horse drawn carriages and mopeds with sidecars. On our journey, we visited  the Koutoubia mosque, Majorelle Gardens and Yves Saint Laurent museum, followed by a beautiful lunch at restaurant Dar Moha and an intimate walking immersion into the Medina. Later in the evening, we enjoyed a traditional dinner at Jad Mahal set against the backdrop of Marrakech’s incredible architecture.

Day Three: On Day Three, we journeyed to the incredible Agafay Desert by a jeep safari tour with the team. There, we got the opportunity to explore the land on quad bikes and in true Moroccan style – camels! We finished the night with a 1001 Nights Feast Dinner surrounded by beautiful music and company.

Day Four: On Day Four, we surprised our team with a hot air balloon ride, where we gazed over Marrakech from the clouds,  allowing us  to experience sweeping views of the mountains and the desert below. In the evening, we enjoyed a delicious dim-lit dinner at the trendy “Bo & Zin” restaurant.

Day Five: On the last full day in Morocco, our team enjoyed fun in the sun at Nikki Beach and to wind down, we shared a final meal at the beautiful Royal Mansour. The Royal Mansour is known and recognized around the world for its unique, conceptual experience of a medina within a medina. With traditional architecture, lush gardens, and riads, the Royal Mansour is the only hotel establishment in the world to offer this unique experience.

It was a privilege to be able to immerse ourselves in the beautiful Moroccan culture and experience all that Marrakech has to offer. Thank you to all of our top brokers for their continued support in making 55C Bloor Yorkville Residences a success. Here’s to more adventures in the near future.
